Yeah, I whated to let u know I heard diong those molds can be real bad for your bike...LoL :2hard j/k bro. I would like to know about that too and if its modded do u need to change the v stacks???

 

The early SRAD gen bikes had some mods you could do to the air box, as the design SUCKED. They have since made them WAY better, and there is really very little to gain by "modding" the air box. you can how ever get different velocity stacks, and they dont usually make MORE peak horsepower, but the V stacks will move ti around to a more usuable range for you particular aplication.

 

I know the first generation SV650 are air starved and an airbox mod will yield a some good power...very noticeable. Unfortuneately I don't know of any GSXR airbox mods.

 

From what I have read and heard, you should not alter the shape or air-flow of the airbox itself. I have a post on here about the velocity stack aftermarket upgrade. My opinion is to follow anything that may be of aftermarket or Suzuki upgrade and not alterations to the equipment itself.

If you cut them then you are disturbing the airflow to the TB's that about it You would possibly notice the diffrence on a dyno but not really on the Butt-Dyno.
